Last night, the Travel Channel premiered the pilot for a new series (possibly) cutely called Confessions of a Travel Writer. I don't receive Travel Channel with my Dish subscription in San Francisco, but have always considered the channel a near complete waste of time, chiefly populated with blatant commercials for destinations and expensive resorts. The only program I really, really enjoyed was my appearance on the channel, being interviewed by Arthur Frommer on the publication of my Southeast Asia Handbook. Now that was a masterpiece.
The WorldHum interview with Charles Runnette has brought in a staggering 200 plus comments, almost all of them negative. Yes, everybody hates Charles and think he's just an arrogant asshole who should never be allowed in front of a camera.
Jaunted also looks at the show, but with a less critical eye since one of their writer/bloggers was invited on the press trip to Chile.
Gadling also jumped in with some thoughts and a handful of comments. The Gadling link is here.
